- : Actually, 10k/sec is exactly 3:1 (at 28.8, we can only assume that is
- : your connect speed). I'm very curious. Give us an example of a specific
- : file name and where you ftp'd it from. What ftp client do you use?
-
- Yes, 28.8/28.8 is my actual connect speed (until I upgrade my MultiTech
- pools to 33.6 starting next week (: then it gets better). I normally use
- files such as text modem manuals since they are large enough to give a
- good reading. I like the Supra manual as a test file, but I've used
- others.
- My test file is a 2Meg bmp that I made. Just one big white box on a
- white background.
- For FTP I'm using WS_FTP 32-bit version on either 95 or NT, depending on
- which computer I'm using. I dial into my modem pool and download from a
- Unix host that is only running PPP authentication and some DNS, so I know
- it has enough umph to serve as fast as my terminal server requests.
